Overview

The cultural producers of Charlotte’s hip-hop and rap music scene, Wavytown Studios, needed an e-commerce site to feature their brand’s merchandise.

As a creative production house, Wavytown Studios needed their website to speak to the soul of their brand. They value collaboration, creative output, and innovation. Wavytown Studio aspires to be a world built by the “collective conscious”. It is a space where creators have a voice & a place to share their story and ideas. Their goal is to bridge connections between the Internet and the real world to provide more opportunities for all people in the creative world. They film videos for artists, host public shows for music & fashion and provide a platform for creatives to promote themselves.

When other creatives are successful, so is Wavytown.

Fruits of the Creative Process

Unlike many of their competitors who use saturated colors and bold fonts to depict the masculine energy that is inherent within the rap industry, Wavytown Studios appeals to the feminine energy within all of us, the divine source of creation they hope to inspire within every creative body. This creative source is represented by the Wavytown Peach; it represents the fruits of the creative process.

Their e-commerce site features warm pastel colors with tropical imagery to denote the season of their Spring/Summer collection. The typeface Ortica is paired with Alte Haas Grotesk to bring an assured elegance to the website’s visual language.
